About JED
King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is the main gateway to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, serving millions of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims annually alongside regular domestic and international traffic. The airport underwent a massive expansion with the opening of Terminal 1 in 2019, a stunning modern facility with a capacity of 30 million passengers per year. The iconic Hajj Terminal, a UNESCO-recognized tensile fabric structure, handles seasonal pilgrim traffic. JED is a hub for Saudia and flynas, connecting Saudi Arabia to over 100 destinations worldwide.

The Haramain train station is integrated into Terminal 1 — book train tickets to Makkah or Madinah in advance during Hajj season. Careem (ride-hailing) is widely used and often cheaper than taxis. Terminal 1 is modern and well-equipped; older terminals are more basic.
