Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport is the main international airport serving Porto, Portugal's vibrant second city. Located about 11 km northwest of the city center in Maia, the airport is a major hub for Ryanair and serves as a gateway to northern Portugal and the Douro Valley wine region. The modern single-terminal building was redesigned by architect Alvaro Siza Vieira and opened in 2005, featuring clean lines and abundant natural light.
