Tampa's historic Latin Quarter known for nightlife, restaurants, and cigar shops.

About Ybor City

Ybor City is Tampa's National Historic Landmark District, founded in 1885 by cigar manufacturer Vicente Martinez-Ybor as a planned company town for cigar workers. At its peak, Ybor City produced 500 million hand-rolled cigars annually and was known as the 'Cigar Capital of the World.' Today, the neighborhood retains its industrial brick architecture, wrought-iron balconies, and a handful of cigar shops where you can still watch cigars being hand-rolled.

Seventh Avenue (La Setima) is the main strip, lined with restaurants, bars, and clubs that make Ybor City Tampa's premier nightlife destination, especially on weekend nights. By day, the Columbia Restaurant—Florida's oldest (since 1905)—serves Spanish-Cuban cuisine in a stunning tile-decorated dining room. The Ybor City Museum State Park and the free-roaming colony of feral chickens (descendants of the cigar workers' chickens) add quirky character.
