India busiest airport for international passengers, located in the financial capital Mumbai.
Why "BOM"?
BOM comes from Bombay, the former name of Mumbai. Although the city was officially renamed Mumbai in 1995, the IATA code was retained as BOM to avoid confusion in the global aviation system.
Terminals
Terminal 1 - Domestic (1A)
Terminal 1A handles domestic arrivals and departures for low-cost carriers. It was renovated in 2020 with improved facilities. Smaller and older than Terminal 2 but functional with adequate dining and shopping.
Terminal 1 - Domestic (1B)
Terminal 1B shares the Terminal 1 complex and handles additional domestic flights. Connected to 1A via internal walkway. Being redeveloped as part of the Navi Mumbai airport expansion plans.
Terminal 1C - Domestic Arrivals
Dedicated domestic arrivals terminal connected to T1A and T1B. Features prepaid taxi counters, car rental desks, and meet-and-greet services. Recently upgraded with better baggage handling.
Terminal 2 - International & Domestic
The stunning Terminal 2 (GVK Terminal) opened in 2014 and is an architectural masterpiece featuring the Jaya He art wall - the largest art installation in the world at an airport. It handles all international flights and premium domestic services. World-class shopping, dining, and lounge facilities.
