About SLC
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) completed a transformative $4.1 billion rebuild called "The New SLC" in 2024, making it one of the most modern airports in the United States. The new facility features a single terminal with two parallel concourses (A and B), connected by an underground tunnel with moving walkways. As Delta Air Lines' western hub, SLC offers extensive domestic and growing international service. The terminal showcases Utah's stunning landscapes through floor-to-ceiling windows and local art.

The New SLC Terminal
The New SLC opened in phases from 2020-2024 as a complete rebuild of the airport. The single terminal building connects to two linear concourses (A and B) via an underground tunnel with moving walkways. Concourse A has 31 gates and Concourse B has 26 gates. The design features a striking canyon-inspired roof, floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Wasatch Mountains, and extensive use of natural materials. Utah-themed dining and retail celebrate the state's outdoor culture.

Insider Tips
The New SLC is stunning — arrive early to explore the architecture and local dining. As Delta's western hub, connections are excellent. During ski season (December-April), the airport gets very busy with skiers heading to nearby resorts (30-60 minutes away). SLC's altitude (4,227 ft) means aircraft need longer runways — this doesn't affect passengers but is an interesting fact.
